Event Report:

With all the background work and efforts, the team 'ASWADHATI 2.0' finally ready for the main event held at BIC, Greater Noida, from 11 June 2018 to 16 June 2018 under the captaincy of B Ganesh and Manoj

Day 1

  • Our day at BIC has begun with unloading our car from the transport vehicle and setting up our pit area. And parallelly on-site registrations have been done at the event.

  • The same day event launching ceremony has done in the presence of Captains and Faculty of all the teams and the organizing heads of Supra.

  • Soon after lunch, we headed to register our car for Technical Inspection(TI)

Day 2

  • We started our day with full enthusiasm and was the first team in the queue for Technical Inspection.

  • Due to the unavailability of a component, we had to wait until the afternoon session for the TI.

  • But the wait was no longer, with all the efforts we had cleared the Technical inspection and the team headed back to the accommodation with cheers and joy.

Day 3

  • With the starting of the day, we got the first sticker for clearing the TI.

  • On the same day, we headed for Driver Egress test. Our drivers cleared the test in the first attempt itself. Our first driver cleared the test in 3.25 Secs and our Second driver cleared the test in 4.5 Secs

  • After the egress test, we got the fuel filled and got the Speed Logo stuck our car.

  • Soon after filling the fuel, we topped up the radiator coolant and headed for Tilt test, where the car will be tilted for 45° and 60° to check for the leakages and rollover failures. Happily, we cleared the tilt test in the first attempt itself and the day ended there.

Day 4

  • This was a crucial day for us. In the morning session, we went for the engine and electrical checkup and we qualified the test and there we cranked our engine for the first time at BIC.

  • Then we headed for Noise Testing. We cleared the test in the first attempt and our car has the lowest sound range of all the teams.

  • At the point, we achieved our Second Sticker of the event.

  • Then our drivers geared up for the break test.

  • Due to some leakages of the brake fluid from the tubes, we were not able to clear the test in the first attempt.

Day 5

  • The morning session was critical for our team. We started bleeding of our brake fluid clear the flow and later we went for the next attempt for Brake Test.

  • Surprisingly the engine stopped after successful braking which should not happen. So, the judges were not satisfied and we had to make another attempt.

  • But this time one of the four wheels didn't lock, which is due to the uneven pressure distribution by faulty braking Bias Bar and that is the point where our journey has been ended in Supra 2018.

  • Later we had many discussions with the Mentors and Judges regarding the failure. We came out with a lot of suggestions and technical points from them and our design has been impressed by the foreign judges and they suggested that our design meets the FSAE International standards.

Day 6

  • This was the final day at the event. In the morning session, endurance round has been scheduled, where teams qualified in static events would perform for efficiency on the race track

  • That was an epic moment to drive a car designed and built by students on a race track

  • In the afternoon session, the award presentation ceremony was held and one of our faculty M.Prashanth Reddy achieved Dhronacharya award for the best faculty advisor in India and our second faculty S.Srikrishnan collected the participation awards and certifications.

  • In the evening we loaded our car in the transport vehicle and then we headed back to our home.
